Dr. Anderson treats patients dealing with peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) due to a number of underlying causes. Peripheral neuropathy is characterized by a variety of sensations such as burning, tingling, stabbing/shooting pain, and numbness. Often, the nerve damage will cause a minor sensation at the beginning (e.g. the feeling of something in the shoe or a bunched up sock), but the intensity will increase over time. While it is best to get in front of the pain as soon as possible, it is not impossible to treat a patient who has had neuropathy for a number of years.
